How to Organize a Charity Scramble
A practical checklist for a well-run, transparent fundraising outing.
Start several months out
Choose your beneficiary, set a fundraising goal, and contact courses early — popular dates fill quickly. Ask each course for its outing package details in writing.
Be transparent about money
Decide how funds will be collected, who handles them, and how results will be reported. If tax-deductibility is mentioned, confirm the beneficiary's status yourself; don't assume.
Why a scramble works
In a scramble, each team plays the best shot every time, so players of every skill level contribute and pace stays manageable.
Volunteers and day-of flow
Assign registration, hole sponsors, rules questions, photography (with consent), and cleanup. A clear schedule and a printed rules sheet prevent confusion.
